The Oregon Coast, family...

...and fun. I think everyone had a good time at Driftwood Shores Resort in Florence over the weekend, I know I did. It was a great time to relax and unwind after an unneccesarily stressful term of school in which I showcased my abilities as a complete and utter failure. Oh well, I passed my Russian final and thus the class, so I guess it was not a total failure.
Anyway, the weekend started with Daniel, Jessica and Zachary arriving at my apartment around 1:oopm. We loaded all of thier crap into the back of my very accommodating '97 Ford Explorer XLT and began our journey. Since I live in Corvallis, and my brother met me there, I decided that we would take the northern route to the coast, rather than the southern, Junction City-Florence route that my mother kept trying to convince me to take. She told me that it would be quicker and less travel time (as it turns out, it is almost exactly the same distance to go from Corvallis over to Newport and down to Florence as it is to go form Corvallis down to Junction City, and over to Florence). Nonetheless, I took the trip over to and then down the coast and was glad that I did. What a spectacular day at the normally gloomy Oregon Coast. We stopped several times, for Daniel to take photographs of a couple lighthouses and the Pacific Ocean.
Once at the coast we spent out time in the 3 bedroom condo that my grandparents had rented for the weekend. Grandma and Grandpa took one bedroom, Mom, Dad and Adam the other, and my Uncle Randy and his kids in the third. That left no more bedrooms, so Daniel, Jessica, Zachary and myself took the living room. Because Zachary and I rank higher than Daniel and Jessica we took the couch and loveseat and made them sleep on the floor.
Zach was a bit fussy until Bubba here calmed him down. In actuallity, I wrapped him in a blanket and carried him around letting him scream at the top of his lungs until he passed out (which was about 20 minutes). Seems as though the little guy was just plain tuckered, because I took him back to the room, laid him down on a bed and let him sleep. And sleep. And sleep. For hours. But it is apparently what he needed, because for the rest of the weekend (the last part of Saturday and Sunday) he was no longer all that fussy and irritable. As a matter of fact he was quite pleasant and sweet, giggling and smiling and having a great time with many people that showered attention on him.
Other than that we just ate, visited, and hung around having a good time. We had a nice drive home on Sunday afternoon and ended our weekend quietly.
Oh, and did I mention that I lost my ass at Three Rivers Casino? Yep, to the tune of about $70.00. Not a lot to some, but a handsome chunk to this poor college student!
